Find your way around Pocktide without turning a small question into a big task.
How do I add spending?
Open quick entry, enter the amount, choose a category and pocket, then save. You can add a note or adjust the date when needed.
What is a trace?
A trace marks something you want to record later. Open Traces in your records and complete it with an amount and category. It isn't included in spending totals until completed.
How do I set up Back Tap?
On iPhone, open Pocktide's Back Tap guide and run the Quick capture shortcut once. In Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap, choose Double Tap or Triple Tap and select the Pocktide shortcut. Setup is required; availability depends on your iPhone and system settings.
My devices aren't in sync
Check that they use the same Apple Account, iCloud is available, and they have an internet connection. Open Pocktide on both devices and allow time for updates. Don't reset your data to solve a sync delay.
Where is my Plus subscription?
Use Restore purchases in Pocktide with the Apple Account used to subscribe. Manage or cancel renewal in your Apple Account's subscriptions. We will never ask for your Apple Account password.
Can I keep a copy of my records?
Use the app's data tools to export CSV or a JSON backup. JSON backups can be restored in the app. Keep exported files somewhere safe; they may contain your financial information.
How does Apple Watch work?
Pair your Watch with the iPhone running Pocktide. You can view balances; adding spending and traces on Watch requires Plus. Open the companion app and check the connection if information hasn't updated.
How do I lock the app?
Enable the app lock in settings. Unlocking uses the device's system authentication, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode.
How do I report a problem?
Include your device, OS and app version, and the steps that led to the issue. Leave out amounts, account details, and other sensitive information unless it is essential.
